I'm a 13-year veteran in digital and social media marketing. I hang my hat at ATB Financial as Director, Social Media Strategy on the Media & Story team, working with an incredible team of communications and public relations professionals.
With a BA in Psychology, English and a background in journalism, I was drawn early in his career to the growing phenomenon of social media. One of my earliest projects was as founder and editor-in-chief of OilersNation.com, the popular independent Oilers news website written for fans of the team by fans of the team.
I eventually took the lead digital role at Calder Bateman Communications, where I led the digital component on numerous innovative campaigns including NoHomophobes, which garnered extensive industry recognition and international media attention and has been shared by over 150k users. I also led the digital side of projects such as Plenty of Syph and Sexgerms with Alberta Health Services; and the 2015 Pride Tape Crowdfunding Campaign with the Institute for Sexual Minority Studies and Services at the University of Alberta.
After Calder Bateman, I spent a year and a half as a Senior Digital Strategist at DDB Canada in their Edmonton office. My clients included the Oilers Entertainment Group, Alberta Health Services, Creative Door, and Encor by EPCOR.
